[Update: Thanks Kent and Richard. Keep it coming!]
[Update 2: Jenith (a former MobileBurn employee and fellow Australian) weighs in, as does James Kendrick.]
Today is a travel day, as Ze Frank would say, and while packing up for the impending journey I am faced with the decision of what gadgets to take with me. It’s only the essentials that are coming this time, so the list includes:
- HP dv2040XT notebook computer
- Nokia N73 smartphone
- Motorola MOTOKRZR K1
- Sandisk Cruzer Titanium thumb drive
- HP iPAQ h1940 PDA in a GPS car holder for directions
- Sony CyberShot DSC-W7 digital camera
- mVox MV900 Bluetooth speakerphone for in the car
- Assorted memory cards, cables, and chargers for the above
Sitting the trip out that would otherwise be coming is the iMate JAQ I will be reviewing, for the simple reason that it hasn’t arrived yet.
So, if you’re reading this, I would be very interested to hear what gadgets you take with you on a trip. Let’s try and start a meme: post your travel gadgets list to your blog, and be sure to ping me so I can find you. Kent Newsome, Robert Scoble, Richard Querin - I’m looking at you!

Hey Brad,
I tried to ping you but the trackback address link below your post is invalid. It goes to a page that says ‘OK’ and redirects you back to the original post. My trackback thingy threw-up when it tried to ping that address.
Anyway, I’ve done a blog post in response to yours.
How you making out since the burglary? Hope all is well.
Thanks for that Richard, it’s quite an interesting list (and is available here for those interested).
I think there may have been a problem with my caching that prevented the trackbacks from working. Hopefully it should be fixed now.
I’m doing a lot better now since the burglary, thanks for asking. I’m finally caching up with the missed work and such, so everything is working out.
my list normally consists of
1. Sony Ericsson W800
2. Compaq Presario Notebook.
3. 256mb Thumb Drive
4. iPod
5. HP iPAQ h1910 in GPS mount
6. Nokia 6230 - back up phone.
7. Whichever headset I am reviewing or using at the time.
8. Chargers, cables, and assorted other accessories for the above gadgets..
If just my phones, computer, pocket PC, and thumb drive were better… I could rival you Brad!
