The email sent back just provided the codes for different OS's (similar to the page on the website) with nothing about a newsletter. On the site I think I remember seeing a checkbox for it. Of course I unchecked the newsletter thingy as I do everytime I'm confronted with one (why do they even bother? :))<br />

I still haven't got an email back, but the site was quite snappy when I used it. Did you have to sign up for the newsletter to get your codes?

I actually tried both (email and site registration) and they both ended up working. Although the registration code reply via email took probably 7 hours, where the site thing was immediate. I wonder how quickly news spread about it. There server seemed quite slow to respond yesterday, maybe they were hit harder than they expected.
