“Why is that?” I hear my (maybe) 4 readers ask? Because he raises a point that is very close to my heart: he (and I) write because of the enjoyment factor! I don’t write because I want to see my hit count go through the roof, I do it because I like to express myself, and hopefully be a little witty and helpful sometimes.
My day job is Contributing Editor for MobileBurn. I do that because I love writing, and I love gadgets. Getting paid for it is only a perk - like mashed potato with my steak.

Agree entirely. I have a day job too and blogging is primarily for fun. But hockey is for fun too! And I like to win when I play hockey.
Maybe there will come a point when I will need that little bit of encouragement to keep posting when few people are reading. But it’s far too early for that in my case. It would be nice to look back and say ‘hey I started with no readers and now look..X-number of people are reading my posts.’ That would provide a sense of accomplishment. But for now I get that sense from even just one reader.
